Principal’s Corner

I am the principal at St. Edward Catholic School and it is an honor and a privilege to serve as the administrator of this very “brave” school.

I bring 19 years of educational experience to my leadership position, those years were spent teaching intermediate grades and English as Second Language, grades K-5.  I received my Educational Specialist degree from Asbury University and I am currently pursing my Ph.D at Bellarmine University.  My doctorate dissertation is focused on family literacy and social-educational change.

My vision for St. Edward School is to foster an educational setting in which all students have the resources available to be successful.  I have several focus areas for our school year including building positive relationships, facilitating differentiated instruction, and building resources for teachers to be empowered in the classroom to meet the educational needs of all students.  I believe in having high expectations for students, as this is a key component of building and facilitating a strong academic program that will prepare our students for a future of success.  In Christ, we inspire, prepare, and create leaders.

I am married, I have two awesome teenagers and a cute dog named, Wrigley.  I love music and dancing, hiking and camping, and spending time with my family and friends. You could also find me at a local bookstore or the library with a cup of coffee and a great book.

Take a  look at all of the great things that are happening at St. Edward School!  Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter @ stedwardbraves.  Call and schedule a tour or a shadow day,  (502) 267-6633, I would love to show you why every day is a great day to be BRAVE, be STRONG, be YOU!

Kindest regards,
Karen Loper, Ed.S.
